Professional Interest Area (PIA) Overview

Professional Interest Areas (PIAs) are an assembly of ISTAART members with common subspecialties or interests.

PIAs are composed of at least 25 individuals and are open to ISTAART members only. PIAs:

• ​Provide a forum for networking for ISTAART members with similar subspecialties or interests.
• Collaborate to submit Featured Research Session proposals at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference®.
• Offer mentoring and career guidance for junior scientists.
• Collaborate on papers.
• Help researchers share the latest research techniques and information.

Generally, PIA members participate in quarterly conference calls via email and meet in person at AAIC. ISTAART members also have the opportunity to form a new PIA.
